Chin ImplantsChin implants reshape the chin to help provide a more harmonious balance of the facial features. Chin implants may be used alone or in conjunction with other facial procedures. For example, chin enhancement may be recommended to achieve better facial proportions for people undergoing cosmetic nasal or facelift surgery. Click here for more information on Chin Implants »
Otoplasty (Ear Pinback)
The operation is performed with the patient under general anesthesia and usually takes about two to three hours. An incision is placed on the back of the ear, exposing the cartilage. Â The cartilage is sculpted so that it bends into a new shape. Sutures are also placed internally to maintain the ear in its new position. Sutures are placed to close the incision, and these usually dissolve over a few weeks. Recovery normally takes one to two weeks. The changes are usually fairly dramatic and be seen immediately, although the final result may not be seen for a few months. Children and adults will want to avoid activities in which the ear may be accidentally bent for 4 to 6 weeks. For additional information on Otoplasty: |
