These items may be purchased at Albertsons, Tom Thumb, CVS, and Walgreens.   Some common brand names are also listed in italics as examples.  Store brands and generics are less expensive and likely work just as well.

Dressings and wound care items:

  • gauze (4×4 gauze or rolls)
  • tape for dressings
  • disposable exam gloves (nonsterile; latex or nitrile)
  • antibiotic ointment (Neosporin, Triple Antibiotic)
  • chlorhexidine (Hibiclens)
  • povidone iodine (Betadine)
  • alcohol pads (if a drain is to be used)
  • cotton-tip applicators (Q-tips; for facial procedures)

Other items:

  • naproxen (Aleve) OR ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin)
  • laxative (polyethylene glycol, MiraLAX)
  • mild soap (Dove, Ivory, Cetaphil, baby wash)
  • probiotics (either yogurt or tablets; Activia or Yoplait Plus)
  • garments
