Breast reconstruction – Case 1

April 16, 2020

This 51 year-old woman had a family history of breast cancer.  Genetic testing showed she was predisposed to developing cancer.  She underwent bilateral mastectomies to minimize her likelihood of developing breast cancer.  Both breasts were reconstructed using 650 ml round silicone gel breast implants and soft tissue support matrix (AlloDerm).

Breast Reconstruction – Case 2

A 47 year-old woman with cancer in her left breast.  She already had breast implants from previous breast augmentation surgery.  She is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 174 pounds.  She underwent bilateral nipple-sparing mastectomies with immediate reconstruction using 650 cc round silicone gel breast implants and a tissue support matrix (AlloDerm).

Breast Reconstruction – Case 3

This 68 year-old woman had cancer in her right breast.  She is 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 153 pounds.  She underwent bilateral nipple-sparing mastectomies.  Dr. Kunkel reconstructed each breast with a 415 ml round silicone gel breast implants and soft tissue support matrix.

Breast Reconstruction – Case 4

This 43 year-old woman (5 feet 7 inches tall, 139 pounds) had breast implants from previous breast augmentation surgery.  She developed cancer in her right breast.  She underwent bilateral mastectomies.  Dr. Kunkel reconstructed each breast with a 520 ml round silicone gel breast implant and soft tissue support matrix.

Breast Reconstruction – Case 8

February 18, 2019

A 53 year-old woman with cancer in her left breast.  She underwent bilateral mastectomies and immediate reconstruction with tissue expanders.  The tissue expanders were later replaced with 375 cc moderate-plus profile silicone gel breast implants.  Her nipples were reconstructed a few months after that.

Breast Reconstruction – Case 9

She is 56 and had cancer in her right breast.  She underwent a right mastectomy, and her breast was reconstructed immediately with a latissimus flap and tissue expander.  Six months later the tissue expander was replaced with a silicone gel implant, and she underwent a lift of her left breast at the same time.

Breast Reconstruction – Case 10

A 49 year-old woman with right breast cancer.  She underwent a right mastectomy and her right breast was immediately reconstructed with a latissimus flap and tissue expander.  The tissue expander was replaced a few months later with a 550 cc round silicone gel breast implant.   Her nipple was reconstructed after that.
