While most of them can be found at Walgreen’s and CVS, they’re probably cheaper at places like Albertson’s, Tom Thumb, and Kroger. Commonly known brands are listed in italics for reference. Store brand and generic forms are less expensive and may work just as well.
Dressing/Wound Care Items For Cosmetic Breast Surgery
Listed below are some items that may be helpful to you depending on what type of surgery you are going to have. Please refer to the procedure(s) you will be undergoing.
Dressings For Breast Augmentation
- Gauze (4×4 gauze)

These are items you should pick up regardless of what type of breast surgery you will be undergoing.
- Non-prescription medication to help with swelling: naproxen (Aleve) OR ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin)
- A laxative (polyethylene glycol, MiraLAX)
- Mild soap (Dove, Ivory, Cetaphil, baby wash)
- Probiotics (either yogurt, smoothies, or tablets; Activia (a Fort Worth company!), Yoplait Plus)
- Clear liquid drinks with sugar (not diet drinks, not artificial sweeteners). Examples to consider: Sprite, Gatorade, cranberry juice, apple juice, ginger ale
Garments For Cosmetic Breast Surgery
- Sports bras. Don’t buy expensive sports bras, just bras that fit comfortably. You should have at least two; one to wear, one to wash. These may be purchased anywhere, including Academy Sports and Outdoors, Target, or wherever you normally would buy a sports bra.
