What is microneedling?
Needles for the skin? Yes. It makes a lot of sense once you look into the science of it. Microneedling is not a torturous process of sticking laboratory-sized needles into the skin. The tiny points on microneedles aren’t much larger than those used for acupuncture. The 6 to 12 microneedles rapidly and repeatedly penetrate 1 to 3 millimeters into and out of the skin. This creates hundreds of microscopic vertical wounds that are so tiny they can’t even be seen. These micro-channels stimulate the body’s normal wound healing cascade by releasing growth factors, leading to the production of new collagen, elastin, and microscopic blood vessels (capillaries).
