Post-Brow Lift Recovery: What to Expect

Beautiful,Young,Woman,With,Clean,Perfect,Skin,,Charming,Smile,AndIf you’ve scheduled a brow lift procedure, congratulations! Getting a brow lift is a great way to give yourself a youthful appearance and help to change the shape of your brows. It’s important that you carefully follow your surgeon’s recommendations for a smooth recovery. Here, we’ll take a look at the steps you’ll need to follow in order to allow your brow lift to heal properly.

Bring a Friend

After your brow lift surgery, you’ll need to bring a friend or family member to drive you home from your outpatient procedure. You’ll also need someone to stay the night with you following your procedure, as you’ll take some time to get back to your normal state after anesthesia.

Use Cold Compresses

Placing cold packs (not ice) in the area around your brow lift can help ease some of the swelling and pain that can come with recovery. Your plastic surgeon will give you specific instructions on how long you should rest between cold packs.

Stay Elevated

Your doctor may recommend keeping your head elevated for some time following your procedure to reduce swelling.

Ask About Medication

Be sure to ask your surgeon about the medication that you’ll need to stay comfortable after your brow lift. Your doctor may prescribe a pain reliever or recommend over-the-counter options to control your pain.

When In Doubt, Ask

Your care team is there to support you throughout the recovery process. When you have a question about your recovery or experience unexpected symptoms, it’s important that you reach out to your doctor’s office right away.

Follow Your Doctor’s Advice

While the recommendations above are great general guidelines to follow after a brow lift procedure, it’s important that you work closely with your doctor and follow their instructions, which may vary based on your individual health.
