This woman underwent breast augmentation with saline-filled breast implants when she was 24. Six years later she had both implants replaced after her left implant leaked. She later developed psoriatic arthritis (an autoimmune disease). Concerned about her health, she visited with Dr. Kunkel in Fort Worth to talk about her options. She decided to have both breast implants and the scar tissue capsules around them removed (“capsulectomies”). The ‘After’ photographs were taken 1.5 years after her surgery. Removing the implants did not result in any changes in her autoimmune disease. *Keep in mind that each person is unique, and individual results will vary.
