This 47 year-old woman had undergone breast augmentation with 360 ml round silicone gel implants 11 years ago. She noted that her right breast had become firm and looked higher than her left. She wanted to remain about the same size but wanted the breasts to be softer and look more symmetrical. An active mother of two and a school principal, she wanted to minimize her risk of her implants becoming hard again. While visiting with Dr. Kunkel at his Fort Worth plastic surgery office, she learned how soft tissue matrix material may help decrease that risk. Her surgery took place as an outpatient at a Fort Worth hospital. Dr. Kunkel removed both breast implants and the scar tissue capsules that surrounded them (“capsulectomies”). He placed new 375 ml round silicone gel implants. He also placed Strattice soft tissue support matrix. The ‘after’ photos shown were taken 1 year after the surgery. *Keep in mind that each person is unique, and individual results will vary.
