This 40 year-old woman from the Aledo – Willow Park – Weatherford area of North Texas had undergone breast augmentation with textured surface silicone gel breast implants 12 years earlier. A 390 ml implant had been placed on the right side and a 420 ml implant on the left. A mammogram detected an abnormality in her left breast implant. A sonogram confirmed her left breast implant was ruptured. She liked how she looked with implants and wanted to keep that look. Dr. Kunkel operated on her in a Fort Worth hospital, removing the implants and surrounding scar tissue.
