Case Details

This 68 year-old woman had DCIS in her right breast.  To treat the DCIS she underwent bilateral mastectomies by a breast oncology surgeon in a Fort Worth hospital.  Dr. Kunkel reconstructed her breasts with tissue expanders at that time and she spent one night in the hospital.  Four months later he replaced each breast tissue expander with a 445 cc round silicone gel breast implant.  He also grafted 100 ml fat into the upper area of her right breast and 80 ml into her left breast.  To complete her breast reconstruction she later had tattoos placed for her nipples.  *Keep in mind that each person is unique, and individual results will vary.
