Case Details
This 54 year-old woman had undergone breast augmentation and breast lift surgery previously. She developed cancer in her left breast. To treat her cancer a Fort Worth breast oncology surgeon performed bilateral mastectomies, including removal of her nipples and her breast implants. The surgery was performed through the scar pattern that existed from her breast lift procedure. Dr. Kunkel reconstructed each breast at that time with a tissue expander. Five months later he replaced the tissue expanders with round silicone gel breast implants. A 485 cc implant was placed on the right side and a 520 cc implant was placed on the left side. She had tattoos placed for her nipples a few months later. *Keep in mind that each person is unique, and individual results will vary.
