This 54 year-old woman had undergone breast augmentation and breast lift surgery previously.  She developed cancer in her left breast.  To treat her cancer she underwent bilateral mastectomies with removal of her nipples and her breast implants.  The surgery was performed through her existing scar pattern.  Dr. Kunkel reconstructed each breast with a tissue expander.  Five months later the tissue expanders were replaced with round silicone gel breast implants.  A 485 cc implant was placed on the right side and a 520 cc implant was placed on the left side.  She had tattoos placed for her nipples a few months later.
